Our Pastor
I am Pastor Ron Kelly. I really feel that I am one of the most blessed men. I am blessed by my heavenly Father who has bestowed upon me His richest blessings. My parents were Garnett and Loreta Kelly. I was brought up to be faithful in church every Sunday morning and night, as well as every Wednesday night, along with all revivals. My parents would have Bible study and prayer time with us boys each night. I am very blessed to have had parents who loved the Lord and brought me up the same way.
I met the love of my life – my wife, Deana. She has been more blessings than I can tell. She has loved me and loved me through the trials of life. God gave me His blessings when He gave my wife to me. What a gift! What a joy she has been to me.
The Lord also gave us two children – Gary and LeAnn. What blessings they have been to us! God has been so very good to me. The blessings continue on now with our grandchildren.
My salvation occurred during a revival that my Uncle Dean was holding. It seemed he preached on Hell every night for two weeks. I dreamed of falling into Hell. But on that precious October night in 1955, when the Holy Spirit drew me to the cross, I walked the aisle and I got saved by the blood of my Lord Jesus Christ. My life has never been the same. I confessed and repented of my sins, although I was not worthy to be saved. Hallelujah! Praise God He saw something in me that was more precious than gold, silver, or precious stone!! God saved my poor, wretched soul. I have been blessed more than I can tell. Oh, what a Saviour!!!
Oh, how the Lord loves us. Even though I was saved and active in church, I still was not totally where the Lord wanted me to be. The Holy Spirit was, once again, bringing me to a place of total surrender…the surrender to preach the Gospel. Finally, in 1991, I came to a place of surrender to preach. My brother Reggie was already a Preacher. As he ended a sermon, he asked if there was anything on anyone’s heart. I raised my hands and he invited me to come forward. I did so and publicly surrendered my will to God’s will. I have been so blessed. I’ve never been the same since that day of surrender. The Lord has so richly blessed this ministry. I’ve now been pastoring at Eagle Heights Independent Baptist Church since 2002.
The Lord turned the hearts of His people and blessed us with 18 acres of ground. By faith, we built His church, enabling us to go forth and further spread the Gospel. God did everything. He orchestrated the purchase of the ground, the money and materials for the building to be built, and the provision of laborers, also. The Craftsmen for Christ came in from several states to assist in the building of the church, as well as several local men, ensuring that the job was done right. Again, God so richly blessed. When the building was complete, everything was paid, and we were debt free. I claim Isaiah 40:31:, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” KJV
